Star Festival
Mood:  bright
Topic: Culture

Star Festival

July 7 is one of five season-related celebrations, 1/1, 3/3, 5/5, 7/7, 9/9, 11/11.
1/1 and 5/5 are only national holiday now.

But we celebrate start festival.

It is told that legendary once-a-year rendezvous of two stars in the Milky way
It turns a wish comes true. So we write a wish on a strip of paper and hung it on the decollated bamboo tree.

There are many Tanabata festivals in various places.

Sendai, Hiratsuka, Anjyo and Ichinomiya.
If you have a chance, it is a good experience of Japanese culture.

Monthly allowance

Monthly allowance of Business man

Recent survey reported that average monthly allowance of business man is 38300 Yen.
It is the third lowest result since they started survey in 1979.
They spend 5400 Yen for cell phone bill.
650 Yen is used for lunch in average.
There is no data for business woman.
But I believe business woman has much allowance and spend more money for many goods.

Rainy season ends in Okinawa and Amami Islands

We have clear and hot day in Tokyo but the weather station doesn't announce the end of rainy season in Tokyo yet.
The southern islands like Okinawa and Amani island get into hot summer.

The rainy season front which has been stayed in is getting weaker and forced to retreat to northern area.because atmospheric high high in Pacific ocean is getting stronger.

Mood:  bright

Rainy Season II

It is kind of strange weather.
Normally we have a lot of rainy days in this season but we had typhoon and many sunny days.
Even though the weather station said it would be rain, it became cloudy or fine day.
Anyway it is not good season to visit Japan for sightseeing.

Typhoon No 6 had landed in Shikoku and Kinki chiho.
It is very rare to have a typhoon in this season.
The size of this typhoon is also fairly big.

Many irregular things are going on.
It may be caused by global warming.

Since the typhoon has gone by tomorrow, it will be fine day tomorrow.

Mc Grand

Mc Grand is released in Japan on Jube 16 by Mc Donald.
The orice of McGrand is 315 Yen.
It seems expensive than other McDonald's humbergers.
Big Mc is 262 Yen.
So its double Mc Grand becomes most premier humber at McDonald Japan.
The taste is good.
Try it in Japan!

Electronic Money

This is one of electronic money cashiers.
You can use plastic money card which is called "Edy".
This is a kind of prepaid card, IC card.
Maximum amount is 50,000 Yen.

I found this at AMPM which is a convenience shop.
You can buy any items at this store.
After shopping, just touch the card on the pad.

Now you can use this card at some restaurants and convenience stores.

Rain again in Tokyo!

It's raining whole day.
It becomes difficult to catch a taxi when it rains.

If you forget to bring an umbrella, don't worry. You can buy it at convenience stores, shopping centers, drug stores and department stores.
But the price varies from 100 Yen to 5000 Yen.

Let try to find a "100Yen shop".
It's the best way!

Trash Boxes at stations

During traveling we may leave trashes.
Train stations equip trash box for travelers trash.
Recently Private railroad companies took trash boxes off from stations for anti-terrorism
JR companies have trash boxes at stations and inside of trains but it seems tighter security than before.
But JR carried away the trash boxes from the Narita Express trains (train getting into Narita Airport)
