Cherry Blossoms

Cherry Blossoms are ready to bloom!!
Cherry blossom is national flower of Japan.
Most Japanese love cherry blossoms and have been waiting for the Cherry blossoms bloom.

It is really good timing to see "Sakura", cherry blossoms now.
There are many private parties are going to be held, so called "Hanami"at Ueno Park and other parks.
"Hanami" means viewing cherry blossoms but actually drinking and eating under cherry blossoms

New Spa spot in Tokyo, Yumegurimangekyo

Yumegurimangekyo, which is one of the biggest spa facilities in Japan, opened today.
There are different 38 bathes with full of hot spring water.
Herbal bath, Jacuzzi, steam bath, Chinese herbal bath, Germanium bath etc.


You need to wear a bathing suit for mixed bathing area.

Admission
Adult: 2300 Yen Weekday
2650 Yen Saturday, Sunday and holiday
Child 1550 Yen below 12 years old
850 Yen below 3 years old

Billi&Bowl

New sport?? Amusement??
New amusement have combined the bowling with billiards showed up. The name is "Billi&bowl. "
The way to play is that the smaller pins of the bowling are knocked down using the billiard ball and the cue of billiards It seems to be able to enjoy it regardless of the age.
The facility is available at "Shinjuku friend park" in Tokyo.

Electronic Paper

Electronic paper

Hitachi and JR Higashi Nippon started to demonstrate the Electronic paper at JR Tokyo Station.
It aims to display News, Weather and Information from JR Higashi Nippon.
This is an experimental demonstration from Dec 1 to Dec. 14 '05.
The content is changed every 5 minutes by wireless LAN.
If you have a chance to stop at Tokyo, it is an interest item to see.

Pivo from Nissan Motor Co.

Pivo from Nissan Motor Co.

NIssan is displaying a new concept car at Tokyo Moter show.
The body upper half including the driver's seat turns 90 degree and 180degree.
It iscalled "Pibo (PIVO)" and an epoch-making mechanism rotating to Nissan Motor Co..
It is possible to make U-turn just turning the top portion.
It exhibits in the 39th Tokyo Motor Show (21 October - Chiba City and Makuhari Messe on November 6).

A female driver not good at backing and the garage putting will be a target customer. The small turn works surprisingly.
The car name is taken from "pivot" of the meaning "Turn" in English.

Tokyo Motor Show

The 39th Tokyo Motor Show is opened for 16 days from Saturday, October 22 to Sunday, November 6 in Makuhari Messe, Chiba. The exhibitor from 239 companies, 5 governments, and 1 group from 13 countries is going to participate.
Tokyo Motor Show comes the 50th anniversary, started in 1954.
If you have time, it is a show that can be very enjoyed.

Yokohama International Triennale of Contemporary Art

The second exhibition of festival "Yokohama triennale" of the modern art that started in 2001 has been held.
The about 80 artists participate from the inside and outside the country in two huge warehouse in the Yamashita pier.
A whole theme is "Art circus (jump from daily life).

The 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan closed

The 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan closed

It was closed last Sunday, 9/25.
22 million visters visited Aichi Exposition from March 25 through September 25, 2005.
The organization expected only 15 million people.
So we can say it was very successful.
280,000 people is the record of visiters in a day.

Thanks everybody and see you in Shanghi, China in 2010.

Fireworks season

It is a season when fireworks are held in various places in Japanese whole country.
Fireworks are held in almost 700 places in the summer of this year.
New types of fireworks are developed every year.
The recent one is the cat type fireworks. It is seen cat's face when
viewing it from the front.

GachaGacha


The GachaGacha is a machine that a capsule comes out from the vending machine by turning steering wheel. when 100 yen to 300 yen is inserted.

You can find these machines everywhere, in front of restraints, toy shops, convenience stores an record shop etc.
Around half million GachaGacha are installed whole Japan.

There are various toys/figures in the capsule, and what comes out is not known. The probability of going out to the inside that differs the appearance establishment according to the thing is high, and the low one is called a premiere thing, and is ..gambling.. considerably high.
The ones for adults are sold, and it is esteemed as a collector items not only for children but also for adults..

In Aichi Expo 2005, a robot plays tag with children.

The MTBA, Master course of Techno-Business Administration, Nagoya Institute of Technology developed the new chasing robot
There is a chase robot with those which name is. "ASKA" of tag robot. ASKA follows a person keeping a constant distance in Expo 2005
ASKA was developed as a pacer robot that originally guided the marathon runner front.

The maximum speed is 22 kilos per hour.

Cherry Blossoms

Cherry Blossoms

Japan Meteorological Agency announced the Cherry Blossoms start to bloom in Tokyo on March 31.
It is fairly slow start in this year.
The cold days after announcement made the blossoms bloom slowly.
The cherry spots are not ready for "Hanami".
"Hanami" means flower viewing with Sake and foods.in open air under / around the cherry trees.

Blue Christmas light decoration

Year 2004 are more brightly in blue Christmas Light Emitting Diode spread popular at power-saving.
On the illuminations which are decorated for Christmas, blue and white are much in fashion this year.
It is said that a Christmas tree for home use also has popular blue illuminations.
In fact, all the illuminations of these blue are light emitting diodes (Light Emitting Diode). Blue Light Emitting Diode was in practical use in 1993, and has spread quickly in recent years. The Light Emitting Diode is several times as bright as the conventional miniature bulb. and power consumption is much less.
