Everyone knows that the Olympic and Paralympics will be held in Tokyo in two years. Kanagawa Prefecture has decided to conduct an experiment trial to lend a smartphone free of charge for foreign tourists to provide fulfilling information and to enjoy traveling in Kanagawa. This is the project with Handy Japan, a private company, that handles the scheme to lend Kanagawa Prefecture and smartphone free of charge.

Hnady Japan is the company to do the business to support free rental smart phones for the guest of hotels, Sheraton Hotels, Prince hotels, Mercure Hotels etc,..

Smartphones are compatible with over 10 languages such as English and Chinese, and you can browse the Kanagawa-ken's homepage and get sightseeing information for foreigners. The Kanagawa Prefectural Tourism Bureau collects the GPS data of the rented smartphone, examines where the foreigner who used it visited, etc., finds the popular tourist spots, and wants to reflect it in future sightseeing measures about Kanagawa-ken. Governor Kuroiwa in Kanagawa prefecture said, "Japan has poor Wi-Fi environment and I am expecting to resolve the dissatisfaction, I want to expand to all prefectures as soon as possible". Demonstration experiments are held from the middle of February to the end of March, and Kanagawa prefecture is considering full-scale introduction after April based on the results

Free calls and free communication costs are isupplied, so why not to rent it?

At various places in downtown, big cities like Tokyo, you can find stores offering foreign exchange service.

It is a store of foreign exchange service found in Akihabara.

In this way, since the exchange rate of foreign currency is displayed at the shop front, you can judge whether you can buy yen at this store by looking at the rate.

There are shops with good exchange rates and bad ones, so it is better to consider well.

As you can see you can exchange from major country's money. This store is offering the exchange service for 17 countries.

If your country is not listed in such a table, it is better to buy Yen in your country or think of other means.

Nadai Fuji Soba

"Nadai Fuji Soba", a buckwheat noodle restaurant, is popular with overseas visitors to Japan. As people are saying they are friendly for foreigners, there is also a menu of English. Amazing!!! For buckwheat and of course, you must buy a ticket with a vending machine. The number is written on the English menu on shows which button of the vending machines for the meal. So just remember the number and press the number on the ticket vending machine.

The kindness of this restaurant is also shown in the following situation. For the set menu, you can choose one noodle from among hot Soba, cold Soba, hot Udon noodles, chilled Udon noodles. Sometimes foreigners are struggling without knowing the difference of these type of noodles, when a counter person shows a sheet of paper which explains the differences of the noodles with four types of photos, the customer can easily choose the one they like to have. The difference between buckwheat noodles, udon, cold noodles, and warm noodles is difficult to understand, but you can understand well when you are shown them in the picture. Seeing such behaviors of the counter person, foreigners can their order with ease with full of peaceful face. The customers are saved with such a kindness mind, "Omotenashi". The number may vary each restaurant. Please check the number on-site. Most attractive point is the price. The price is also very friendly for foreigners. Approximately with 500 yen, you can eat foods almost your stomach swells. They are handling Japanese Soba, Japanese Udon, Ramen, Curry rice, Rice Bowl etc. During lunch time, you can get a better deal for lunch special. For example, Soba in hot soup is 300 yen and mini Katsu-don is 360 ye, So mini katsu-don set menu becomes 660 Yen but actual price is 560 yen. Thanks Fiji-Soba.

Tuna Sushi is safe and healthy?
Mood:  hungry
Tuna is safe and healthy?

When you are in Sushi restaurant, you like to order Tuna, Maguro'.

Tuna is believed as healthy and good to eat.

The health agencies in many countries have announced Tuna contains mercury.

Unfortunately, Bluefin tuna which I like best has the highest mercury level.

Considering this fact you may have the way to enjoy delightful Sushi.

It is good idea to eat various Sushi like fishes and shellfish and vegetables. Californian role, Kappa roll, Oshinko roll Tuna is not only Sushi.

As long as you don't eat excessive amount of Tuna it would be safe.

If you are pregnant, it would be better to consult with your doctor about how much you can eat Tuna peace.

Please enjoy Sushi in Japan as many as you like.

Be careful about shoyu.

You will be very thirsty after you eat sushi because of too much Shoyu (Soy Sause).

Use reduced-sodium Shoyu if they have.

Do not dip whole sushi in Shoyu (Soy Sauce)!

Internet access in Japan.

Internet Access

You may think Japan is one of the Internet popular countries. In fact, it is true but for the visitors from foreign countries. There are so many Wifi signs in Japan. But these signs/logos are only for the people who has the cell phone/smart phone in Japan. If you are very connected person to the internet, it would be better to have your cell phone with international roaming service. There are three major carriers in Japan, Docomo, AU, Softbank.

If your cell phone company has the roaming service with these 3 carriers, just tell the operator to have international roaming service in Japan.

Another option is to rent a mobile router at airport.  When you are going to return to your home just bring it to the counter or mail it to post.
The price is 500 - 1000 Japanese Yen /day.
